What Is a Deduction Sudoku?

A deduction sudoku is a logic puzzle that blends two worlds: the rules of sudoku (one item per row and column) and the deduction of a mystery story. Instead of numbers, you place characters using clues, and the goal is to find who is guilty of a small crime.

How it works

Each character has a clue about where they were ("to the right of the table", "in the kitchen"…). Combining those clues with the one-per-row-and-column rule, only one arrangement is possible. Whoever ends up on the crime scene is the culprit.

Deduction Sudoku with dogs: PawClues

In PawClues, the deduction sudoku is played with dogs: one of them made a mess at home and you, the detective, must deduce which. It is free, plays in your browser and has a new case every day.

Why is it addictive?

Because every case has a single logical solution: no guessing, just reasoning. That "I figured it out myself!" feeling is what makes sudoku and Wordle so addictive.
